Open Letter

An Open Letter to The Brethren                                            May 7, 2010

Shalom Brethren,

This letter goes out to all of you who have, or know someone who has been touched, affected, or influenced to turn from the Scriptures and Messiah Yahshua by the teachings put forth in the past by me that dealt with my struggles with the Brit Chadasha and the Tanakh. To all of you I profoundly apologize.

Seven years ago, when I began to see what seemed to be irreconcilable issues with the translations of the Tanakh and Brit Chadasha that we have access to today,  I struggled mightily and cried out to Yahweh for answers. Yahweh chose at that time not to provide me with the answers. Filled with doubt and unanswered questions, I ultimately came to a place where I felt that I had no choice but to put both the Tanakh and Brit Chadasha on the shelf and shut down all ministerial and teaching activities.

Over the seven years that followed, I continued to cry out to Yahweh for the answers. For seven years the answer was…not yet. Then a few months ago my prayers were answered. I was led to the teachings of several gifted teachers that together provided the filters I needed to resolve the translation issues.

I am now completely confident in the inspiration of the Scriptures, as originally given prior to scribal errors, translation errors, and agenda edits and insertions. There is no doubt in my mind or heart that Yahshua is the Moshiach.

I regret deeply that I continued to teach during the time that I was struggling with this. I am greatly saddened that what I taught was a factor in some brethren “throwing away” their use of the Tanakh and Brit Chadasha and giving up on their belief in the Messiah revealed to us in them.

Brethren, please forgive me and know that you too can find the answers I found and be restored. It is my greatest hope that you will find the answers that resolve the issues for you as well.

On April 3rd, 2010 I shared the story of the “Journey” that led me out and back in with about 75 brethren in Chattanooga, TN. This message was video taped and can be accessed here on this site. I truly believe that the story of my journey will give hope to those of you who are struggling with the issues I struggled with.

If you would like to contact me I can be reached by phone at 718-413-7961 or by email: steve@now-is-the-time.org.

 Shalom B’shem Yahshua HaMoshiach,

Steve Berkson
